i have a job that many treat as their summer resort - they escape to us from may to september (despite being this geographical area's cruelest months) - and then off to where ever until next calendar's pass. this goes for workers and patrons mostly. this means an awful lot of revolving, tides up and down, and all of those other cliches.
we're currently in the sad period of the summer where all the workers are leaving. everday another summer hand returns to their proper place, leaving all sorts of memories that are great to hang on to but are even better to live inside of. oftentimes this sad period looms within me so i distance myself a little when everyone's around. i'm not all that into missing people i care about.
but there is a constant, who is always there no matter what the calendar says. thanks, charlotte, for being that constant for so long now that i can't even remember the number of days, months and years. we're just there, together on a timeline that points both ways. it's nice. there's nothing to miss when you're right next to me.
